Racine-based Johnson Financial Group plans to build a new one-story, 8,669-square-foot branch with drive-thru lanes at 17740 W. Bluemound Road in the Town of Brookfield, according to plans submitted to the town’s Plan Commission.

The site includes a vacant building, formerly occupied by Don & Roy’s Motorsports. All existing structures on the property, excluding the cell tower, would be demolished to make way for the new branch, according to the documents. Johnson Financial Group is collaborating with Waukesha-based construction firm The Redmond Company on the project.

Don & Roy’s Motorsports closed in 2022 after it was acquired by Waukesha-based Action Power Sports, Inc.

Johnson Financial Group has 34 branch locations, all in Wisconsin, including a Brookfield branch at 14000 W. North Ave. Last year, the company also submitted plans for a new branch in Pewaukee.

Johnson Financial Group holds approximately $7 billion in total bank assets.

The town of Brookfield will consider the proposal for the new branch at its Tuesday Plan Commission meeting.
