UPAF Ride for the Arts series will take place over three June weekends

The United Performing Arts Fund adjusted its annual Ride for the Arts into a new series that will occur over three Sundays in June.

UPAF reimagined the event in order to accommodate social distancing practices brought on by the Covid-19 pandemic. The Ride for the Arts series will occur on June 6, 13 and 27. The event already is approved by the Milwaukee Health Department.

In 2020, UPAF held its annual Ride for the Arts virtually in June, raising $380,736 from 2070 participants, according to a UPAF spokeswoman. The event raised $531,338 from 4,391 participants in 2019.

“After working closely with UPAF to ensure a safe event, The Milwaukee Health Department gives our support for the Ride for the Arts,” City of Milwaukee Health Department's Lauren Woboril said in a press release. “We thank organizers of this event for working closely with us and for continuing to be in compliance with our current orders.”

The series will be held at three locations: Veterans Park in Milwaukee on June 6, Sharon Lynne Wilson Center for the Arts in Brookfield on June 13 and Coal Dock Park in Port Washington on June 27.

The event will continue to be sponsored by Miller Lite for the 31st consecutive year. Other sponsors include Johnson Financial Group, Husch Blackwell, West Bend Mutual, KS Energy Services, Wheel & Sprocket, Children's Wisconsin and WISN-TV 12.

Registration is open for the Ride for the Arts Series. Single-day registration is $45, or participants can sign up for all three days for $65.
